Advices About Listing Of Ebay Auctions

Okay, when it comes to choosing an upgrade for your listing, there are many options to choose from. So many that it may hard for you to decide when to use them, especially when each one of them will cost you money and although ten cents may not seem like much, if you plan on running a lot of auctions this extra expense can add up quickly.

It is best to do a completed item search on a product similar to yours in order to determine if adding features actually helped a sale. You should also search current items similar to yours to see if you need to add a feature.

For example, if every product like yours already has the bold feature, than opting out of bold may actually increase your chances of a sale.

A better option is to check out the advanced research features available at http://www.andale.com. There you will find out exactly how many auctions used certain features.

10 day listings – The question is whether adding 3 days to an auction will actually get you more worthwhile bids, not the ten cents you have to pay.

List in Two Categories – This option doubles the price of listing your item and since most buyers will find your product by searching and not by browsing, this upgrade is usually not worth it.

Listing Designer – Ten cents for a template to use with your auction. In my opinion, EBay should offer this for free, considering you could design your own, which no one will be using, for free.

Buy It Now – I actually like this option a lot. If you know what price you want an item to go for, why wait until the end of the auction. Just use Buy It Now and get your money.

Extra Photo Fee – Just design your own page and use a hosting service an use as many pictures as you want. Opt out on this one if you can.

Highlight – This and bold are just not worth it most of the time because everyone uses them to the point that not using them may get you more notice.

Featured in Category – Changes your ranking in category listings only. Not worth much.

Featured Plus – This affects both the search and category listings. It is worthwhile if you think you need it to help sell your product.

Featured in Gallery – You have no need to use this much except perhaps with products that have a visual appeal wher people shop by looks, like clothes.

Featured on Home Page – This is basically a waste of money most of the time. Enough said.

Subtitle – A relatively new feature that doesn’t make much sense to me considering that the contents of this line only show up in a description search not in the standard title search. So what good is it? And at $0.50, the price is a little high.

EBay Keywords – EBay is trying there own version of Google’s “Adwords” out on their site. This is a relatively new feature and may be worth some testing, just don’t bid on more than you can afford. This type of thing can become addictive.
