Tips For Ebay Auction: Where And When
As far as when to start your auction and how long, you will have to test a little. In my experience, it seemed that all theories I tested seemed to work to one extent or another. So I will list some of the ones you may have heard. How Long • Pick the seven-day auction because your auction will get the most exposure. After all it costs the same as a three-day auction and it is more than twice as long and the ten-day auction costs extra. Plus a seven-day listing works with the “best day of the week” theory, allowing your auction to begin and end on your favorite day of the week.
• Pick the three-day auction because the most bids come at the beginning and at the end of the auction, making the seven-day auction’s extra four days just a waste of time.
• Now there is a one-day auction that gives you the advantage of being able to start your auction one day and finish it the next. This is good if your want to sell your product quickly, are selling close to a holiday, or if you want to sell a lot of identical items during a week. With this format, you can list 70 auctions selling the same items in one week, since eBay limits the amount of identical auctions you can run at once to 10.
What Day • Start and end your auction on Sunday evening. People will be at home, get bored and browse EBay. Maybe, maybe not.
• Start and end your auction on Wednesday. Don’t know why. For some reason this worked for me. What Time It actually makes sense to make sure that your auction begins and ends when people are near a computer, because when you sort searches in the EBay search engine, you can choose to either do this by date or by price. When the auctions are sorted by date you see either new auctions or those just about to end first.

It actually makes sense to make sure that your auction begins and ends when people are near a computer, because when you sort searches in the EBay search engine, you can choose to either do this by date or by price. When the auctions are sorted by date you see either new auctions or those just about to end first. So now what? That really helped. It comes down to testing. What kind of product are you selling? What kind of people would buy it? When will they be home? Do they need to be home to bid or would they have a computer at work? Where or What Category? Search for the product you are going to be selling on EBay and do some research. Which of the auctions are getting the most bids? Which are getting the highest bids? Browse through the categories. There are lots of them and many of them seem to overlap. The point is to go where your customers are looking. Most people will find your listing through the search engine, but it doesn’t hurt to catch a few browsers.
