Information sells and it sells very well and the internet has given the common person a chance to create and sell their
own information products. Before the internet, a person would have to go through traditional channels to get a book published. He would have to take it to a publisher and convince the publisher that it would sell enough copies to be worthwhile to print. The publisher would then have editors cut the work apart so that it no longer resembled the original book. Well, those days are no longer. Anyone with a computer can publish his or her own books without the need of a traditional publisher. In fact for many, this may be the most profitable option. When Stephen King released one of his novels in e-book format and sold it himself, he made a killing. This is the true revenge of the idea person. In the past, the people with the ideas hardly made any money, because they
would have to bring their ideas to someone with enough capital to produce those ideas. Technology gives the keys to the person with the knowledge. |
